From the Coach's Clipboard...

3/4/2015

I have finally had a chance to put together a website for my coaching work. This website is designed to be a collection of resources and tools for teacher-support providers at all levels. I also included teaching strategies that can be shared with teachers who need strategies to be more successful with our district's formal observation rubric.

You can access the new site here:

If you would like for me to add anything specific, please share.

My New Master Teacher Site

This past week, the Master Teachers of Shelby County Schools submitted annual goals for this school year. One of my goals was to create a website of resources to support my teachers with unpacking our Teacher Effectiveness Measurement (TEM). The site is still under construction, but I am ready to start sharing this with others.

Check it out here!

My App: Connecting TEM to TLAC

About a year ago, I aligned Lemov's Teach Like a Champion teaching strategies to the indicators described on our Teacher Effectiveness Measure evaluation rubric. This remains to be a great tool for helping teachers pinpoint strategies that will deliver immediate results and improvements in their classrooms.

How can you get this app?
It can be downloaded on any phone, Apple or Android, and because it's web-based, you can use the tool from a PC through the Internet.

The website is:

To use this app like a regular app, save the main page as a bookmark on your desktop or phone main screen. It will open like an app and function like one too!

Enjoy!

The Ultimate Multimedia Presentation: Blendspace

1/3/2014

I've been researching ways to flip my classroom, and Blendspace may be the best resource to get me started. Within this platform, a teacher can search for a variety of resources on a topic and organize them to create a multimedia presentation. I created my first one in less than five minutes because it is VERY user-friendly. Every teacher should be using Blenspace!

Here is a link to the resource I created on Charles Dickens as part of our Christmas Carol Unit.

Have You Seen Padlet?

To combine all of my online resources for Charles Dickens, I created a Padlet. This has got to be one of the greatest ways to share ideas. In 2014, I hope to find a way to set up a collaborative Padlet where students can post different components on a topic.

Glogster for Education

So, what is a GLOG? It's a graphic BLOG. Think of a multimedia poster that has text and pictures but also includes hyperlinks and video - that's a GLOG. I created a GLOG to share project specifics with my seventh graders. You can view it here. I did have one group venture out to create their own GLOG for this project, and they did a great job! Their GLOG on Annie Sullivan can be found here. Enjoy!
